Theresa Caruana
Born 1977,USA

Theresa Caruana is an internationally active new media artist specialising in large-scale public projections involving local communities and often exploring an aspect of the natural environment. Alongside her new media work, Caruana creates intricate, sensitive collage. She holds a prestigious post as a Visiting Fellow at the University of Nottingham where she researches technological applications for art making.

Meredith Gunderson launched Caruana’s long term project RIVERS BAGHDAD in June 2009 in which Caruana is developing a public artwork for the city of Baghdad. This project includes an ongoing collaboration with the University of Nottingham for the purposes of exploring the interface of new technology and art to create works of art for a specified remote location.
